New Single “Cast into the Firmament”
The Flint band’s new single is out now.
Flint, Mich., August 11, 2026. The Headless have released their new single “Cast into the Firmament,” out now on Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, and YouTube. The heavy space rock and alt-metal band from Flint, Michigan follows its debut with a second release this year. For fans of Failure, Baroness, Faith No More, and Superheaven.
“Cast into the Firmament” is a song about loss and acceptance, or possibly about fish in outer space, and something about a very bad horse. It takes its cues from space rock bands like Failure and Hum, and there is one very explicit influence woven into the bridge, an easter egg the band is happy to leave for listeners to decode on their own.
The single features Madison McConnell of War on the Horizon, who sings harmonies on the choruses. Andy Lenox also plays second guitar in War on the Horizon.
The Headless are recording their singles and a forthcoming album with Marc Hudson at Rancho Recordo, in the forests of Michigan, where Hudson handles mixing, mastering, and production alongside the band.
The band is booking shows across Michigan, with confirmed dates at Flint Local 432 on September 12 and the Ann Arbor Funhouse on November 28.

where wind forgets to blow.

and give her the slightest push.

A seahorse’s tail spirals downward.
Impossible to unwind.
A rider drowning and dancing,
tangled in the line.
